Galaxy J1 Mini 2016 Accessories
Because it's from Samsung it means that it comes with a brand name that you can rely on. Released in December of 2016, the phone is sold in retailers and online across the country.
The phone, as the Mini name suggests has a fairly modest screen size, just 4 inches across diagonally. While this may not be enough for some people, it is in fact the exact same size as both the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5S. You have to remember that to power a bigger screen means a bigger battery, and therefore an increase in cost.
Size and Weight
This isn't a big phone, as we've mentioned. The dimensions measure 126.6mm tall, by 63.1mm across, by 10.8mm thick. All this is packaged in a phone that is only 126g in weight, or about as much as a small tin of tuna.
The phone has a pretty basic camera attached, a 5MP affair which should be adequate for taking photos if you aren't super concerned about definition or fanciness. The selfie camera, however, is only VGA which means that the quality of selfies will be fairly low.
You'll have the regular suspects available when it comes to networking connections; Wi-Fi and Bluetooth come as standard (but no NFC unfortunately), along with the phone networks 3G, and 4G, so you'll be able to obtain relatively fast connection speeds over most of the country. We recommend using Wi-Fi wherever available so that you keep down your data use bills, as they can add up to be quite expensive.
The phone features a 1500mAh battery, which provides for up to 8 hours of talk time while using the 3G network, or up to 29h of music playback. The battery itself is removeable, which is handy if it needs to be replaced at any point in time.
System and Memory
The Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini runs on Android Lollipop, and features a 1.5GHz quad core chip for its processing power. You then have 8GB of internal memory available on the phone, as well as a MicroSD slot, which means that you can extend the memory by up to 128GB by purchasing an external MicroSD card. This is recommended for people who like to use quite a few apps, as you’ll soon find the phone's internal memory running out otherwise.
The Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini is very reasonably priced, which makes it a great choice if you are sticking to a budget or just looking for a backup phone. You can purchase the phone from Telstra online for just $119, or if you want an unlocked version of the phone (not tied to having a Telstra SIM), then you can pick up the handset over at Officeworks for $147 unlocked. This is a better choice for people who don't want to go with Telstra, or change SIM cards often, as Telstra charges an unlocking fee on all handsets.
Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini accessories
Choose the correct accessories for your Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini. While the phone comes with a charger, there are other accessories that are worth purchasing to protect your phone and make sure that it is more useful.
If you find that you are running out of battery often, then there are a range of charging options that you can turn to that ensure your phone is always switched on. For instance, powerbanks are a great way to make sure that you never run out of battery. These rechargeable devices store battery which is then transferred to your phone. Because they are portable, this means that you can recharge your phone wherever, without the need for a wall socket.
You can also purchase both wall chargers, as well as car chargers for your J1 Mini, for a more traditional approach.
Always find yourself chatting on speakerphone? Then you should look into buying yourself a car cradle for your phone, which can also offer charging at the same time in some products, too. Other options include Bluetooth headsets and in ear devices, as well as Bluetooth setups that are linked to the stereo system of your car for when you're driving around.
Your phone is actually a delicate piece of electronics equipment, despite the fact that you throw it in the bottom of your bag and accidentally drop it on the floor on a regular basis! To keep your phone in better condition for longer, and to make sure that it's always operational, you should really think about adding external protection to it.
This means grabbing yourself a case so that when you throw it in your bag or drop it on the floor, it's actually buffered and protected from spills. You can choose from a stylish leather flip case, or a tough armour case for the ultimate in phone protection. Accessorise with a tough glass screen guard to protect your screen from any chips, cracks, or shatters. Using this dual protection combination, your phone will not be at risk of getting destroyed within your first week of using it!
