From the 29th of March 2010 BigPond introduced a new cable broadband Home Network Gateway, the Netgear CGD24N. This unit replaced the existing Cable Home Network Gateway (CG814WG).
At the time of the new unit being launched pricing for self install kit and professional install kit are unchanged.
This new Home Netrwork Gateway offers extended WiFi range with multiple internal antennas, added noise immunity, packet acceleration, Multiple SSIDs, Wireless Multimedia (WMM) QoS and WPS. The built-in 802.11n wireless access point supports up to 300 Mbps.
The HNG allows you and you network to stay safe and secure, double firewall with stateful packet inspection (SPI) and NAT (Network Address Translation) secures your network against hackers. NAT Firewall with VPN (virtual private network) pass-through protects against Internet attacks, and auto-partitioning on each port protects each installed computer from damaged network connections.
