Telstra Turbo Pre-Paid Wireless Modem USB301

Share

Patch leads and antennas for Next G and BigPond wireless modems and data cards

Need more speed from your Telstra prepaid wireless modem? The Telstra Turbo prepaid modem being a 7.2 MB/s device provides this speed fix. The USB modem itself is a slim, lightweight, design with lanyard included.

With the new Sierra usb modem, the USB301, you can enjoy typical speeds of 550Kbps to 3Mbps. This translates to downloading a 2MB YouTube video in as little as 12 seconds according to Telstra.

The device itself operates on the Next G network, which provides high-speed wireless internet access and gives superior mobile coverage for fast internet access when you are on the move.

Setting up your prepaid Turbo Modem is easy. The auto installation software is on the modem itself which eliminates the need for you to have a cd to keep your connection manager software on and allows for an easier setup. Just plug your modem into a spare usb port and the software will self install. The prepaid Telstra Turbo modem is usable on both Mac and PC. Mac compatibility includes OS X 10.4.11 and later and for the PC, Windows compatibility includes XP, Vista and Windows 7.

The Turbo prepaid modem also has the ability for a direct connection to an external antenna to help improve reception in areas with marginal reception. Also handy is the abilty to insert a micro SD memory card into the modem's slot to use the modem as a USB flash drive.

We think the Prepaid Turbo modem at $179 is definetly worth the extra asking price over the older MF626 prepaid modem given the device's extra speed and the ability to directly connect an external antenna.
