PTA-4 Canine Phototherapy Applicator for MP-9

This is 4-diode phototherapy applicator that works with the Pulsed Magnetic Field Therapy unit, the MP9. It has 2 infrared and 2 visible super luminescent diodes.

The phototherapy side of the model MP9 is basically the same as the Laser equipment, which is marketed to trainers. We refer to this equipment as Phototherapy because these units, ours included, strictly speaking are not lasers. A Laser is a device, which generates a parallel beam of light. The emitters used in therapeutic 'Laser' units typically have a 10% divergence. 10% of the beam will spread out once it leaves the emitter and it is wrong to call this type of unit a laser, we prefer to call it Phototherapy or light therapy. True laser diodes are very expensive and the diodes used in most units are Super Luminous Diodes, which are quite effective and much less costly.
