Greetings from California! I’m bored at work so I decided to check out your website on my iphone during lunch break. I really like the information you provide here and can’t wait to take a look when I get home. I’m surprised at how fast your blog loaded on my cell phone .. I’m not even using WIFI, just 3G .. Anyways, very good blog!

um yeah!! Telstra, a monopolised waste of time. did anyone mention that you can pay $150 and it lasts for twelve months…better that $240 0r $360, you think your not going too use it each month?? think again….i hate telstra as much as the next guy but not much choice for coverage!! If Telstra was a person i would be egging them daily!!!

I have just tried to recharge my IPad sim for the first time and Telstra is a pointless waste of time – I live in a state that doesnt have 7 day a week shopping so I cant just pop to a Telstra shop and get a re-charge voucher and Telstra in India is refusing to take my debit card as I may be making fraudulent charges this is a joke!

It’s hard to find knowledgeable people on this topic, but you sound like you know what you’re talking about! Thanks

Does anyone know how to see what your pre-paid service number is? I only have the card that the sim came out of. I’m trying to recharge but requires 10 digit number. The number on the card is ten digits but has a letter. :-(.

Currently in Hong Kong. Was told my pre paid had international roaming. Does not work. Trying to purchase the Irbplus plan for $30.00 not possible. I was told I did not need a user name or password by telstra. Thought this was wrong was was assured I did not need it. Try and purchase something without it is useless. IPad is useless once I leave my hotel what a waste of time. Telstra got to love them

I would like to recharge my iPad telstra for Internet please. Thanks.

  15. Bob Carline says:

Same problems for me! Went to recharge (having advised the Telstra dealer that this was possible). Purchased a$150 voucher (which should last for 12 months). Went to My Account, selected recharge and entered the 12 digit number only to be told it was invalid. Eventually discovered the Support number 1258880 only to listen to Pre-recorded message telling me how easy this process was and instructing me to do what I’d already done. Emailed Telstra and their Support team emailed back saying they’d love to help me but I’d be best contacting their Support Team on 1258880 (and listen to the same womans Pre-record voice) Ground hog day!

  16. johaninos says:

thans, most helpfull, it seems that Telstra has made it an art-form to confuse people.

  17. Hunter Julias says:

    Very nice post.

  18. Web guy says:

Thanks for this post, clearly telstra with all their power could not pass this message on their site…

    Thanks

  19. Marc says:

Good information. Telstra phone support have no idea about the prepaid sim for ipad. In store they have a little more information, although they say that cannot schedule recharge with credit card…

  20. David painter says:

September, and time for the recharge. 6am at the airport and I can access telstras main site, but NOT the recharge billing section… Not without recharging first. #fail. After 8am they answer the phone and allow me to recharge, prompting first for $30 plan, when they have a $20 plan but don’t admit it straight away. (I used about 700MB last month)

When I ask if I can register for my prepaid to do this online, they don’t know, try to transfer me and the line quality degenerates til I hang up in frustration. It’s their network, why don’t they call me back!?

Accessing online requires a telstra phone that can receive a SMS for a registration PIN number, my mobiles on vodafone and of course the iPad can’t receive an SMS. #fail

I call again, speak to a different person who requires me to explain the whole situation again, and still doesn’t get it. Says she can transfer me to a n automatic payment section so they can automatically debit me, but finally after being on hold 10 minutes the fella there complains he can’t hear me and when I shout at him (echoing across the airport lounge) he says I need to speak to prepaid about this issue.

    #FAIL

I suggest any alternative to telstra if u can. Run away.

  21. Steve says:

I called into a Telstra store to inquire about recharge methods for my Ipad only to be told that I could not purchase a voucher because the Ipad was not like a phone! Yet,here I am reading that I can buy a voucher from a supermarket or a petrol station- which is what I was told at the Apple store. Does anyone at Telstra know what is going on?

  22. Matthew C. Kriner says:

Hey, I searched for this blog on Bing and just wanted to say thanks for the excellent read. I would have to agree with it, thank you again!

  23. SAJB says:

Good on you! Your web page made it very easy to find this out (Unlike Telstra themselves)

  24. Melly says:

Hey I think that the apple ipad is so really cool. It is just hard to afford one, you know with this economy.
