You can now get Telstra’s prepaid modem at a cheaper price as Telstra’s prepaid wireless usb modem the MF626 has been reduced by $20 from $99 to now just $79.00
This follows the recent reduction in price for Telstra’s Turbo prepaid modem the USB301 by $20 from $149 to $129.00
The MF626 is the company’s first pre-paid modem device with dual band GSM and UMTS support. This modem also supports up to 4GB Micro SDHC memory so you can use the device as a USB flash drive. The MF626 operates on Telstra’s Next G network to deliver prepaid wireless broadband on the move. This USB modem is rated at peak speeds of 3.6Mbps downlink speed.
The MF626 Telstra prepaid USB modem is “Network Locked” to the Telstra Network. You will need to contact your Service Provider if you wish to unlock your device.

Virgin Media are now bragging that they’re bringing in higher speed broadband. In my view they should get their existing services up to the advertised speeds before they start selling more. On weekends the service gets terrible, I often don’t bother to use it.
