The New Apple iPad (4th Generation) will be released in Australia on the 16^th march 2012 and will come in a variety of memory sizes and will be available on a range of data plans that allow iPad owners to connect to mobile broadband and enjoy internet access on Australian mobile networks and via WiFi. The new iPad utilises a micro SIM for mobile network data access.

The third generation of the iPad has Retina display, a new A5X chip with quad-core graphics and a 5 megapixel, iSight camera that incorporates advanced optics that produces amazing photos and 1080p HD video. The new iPad has a 10 hour battery life while remaining thin and light, although slightly heavier and deeper than the iPad 2. The new iPad measures approximately 241mm x 185mm x 9.5mm.

The New Apple iPad (4th Generation) is available in two colour variants black or white and comes in memory sizes of 16GB, 32GB or 64 GB.

The New Apple iPad (4th Generation) is WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n) and 3G capable and will operate on 4G but currently the new iPad’s 4G operating frequencies are not supported by any of Australia’s network operators.

The iPad (4th generation) uses an 8-pin Lightning connector with a USB-A to Lightning cable. To achieve full-speed charging, it requires a 12W USB-A power adapter. This is the original power brick that shipped with the device. Newer iPads use a USB-C charger

Charging compatibility is straightforward: any certified USB power adapter rated at 12W or higher, including higher-wattage Apple bricks, will safely charge the iPad 4th generation at its maximum supported rate. Using a lower-rated 5W iPhone adapter will result in significantly slower charging or may trigger a “Not Charging” status message on the screen.
