iPhone 6S Rumours

iPhone 6S rumours? A new year, another new iPhone set for release. Will the latest offering from Apple, due in September be the iPhone 6S, the incremental update for the iPhone 6?

When is it Due?

If we are to follow history, we should the iPhone 6S release around the 20th September of this year.

What Usually Comes With a New iPhone Release?

You can expect to see all the usual suspects lined up for the iPhone 6S launch: a faster, improved processor, increased battery life, and a better quality camera – reportedly 12MP. These big three have been standard upgrades across each iPhone release cycle.

Apple Are Expecting Big Things

According to sources, Apple have suppliers starting to build 85-90 million new iPhone 6S units before the end of 2015. This is apparently the largest order to date, and appears to be prompted by strong sales of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus over the last quarter of 2014.

What About Those Leaked Photos?

A photo purportedly showing the 6S popped up recently on the web that looks to show the iPhone with a Qualcomm chip on board. This would speed up LTE downloads to up to two times.

The design also looks to be thicker than the iPhone 6, which some say means that it is certain that Apple will have Force Touch technology onboard the phone, and to clean up the protruding camera to make it sit flush with the outer. Force Touch is the same technology that Apple used with the Apple watch, which allows your device to recognize the difference between a tap and a press. This may mean a whole new level of gestures becoming available to use.

The screen size is looking to be staying the same, and there are rumours that a new colour, Rose Gold, will be released.

There will likely be an improved tougher aluminium casing to prevent the backlash Apple encountered due to the bending in the iPhone 6.

There may also be an update to the Touch ID fingerprint tech that currently only currently sits on the home button – we may get to use the whole screen instead, possibly even with multiple fingers. This would make it very easy to use Apple Pay to pay for purchases.

Apple SIM – that is the SIM used in the latest iPads – may be a welcome addition to the phone. The Apple SIM makes it easy to change your network without charging over SIM cards.

Another one that we always hope will come with the new iPhone – waterproofing – may yet make an appearance too. This may be a bit of a long shot though. Check out our iPhone cases
