Samsung has announced another addition to the GALAXY range, the much anticipated GALAXY S 4 Mini. The Samsung GALAXY S 4 Mini weighs a mere 130 grams and comes with a 4.3 inch screen whereas the Samsung Galaxy S4 has a 5 inch screen.
According to Samsung this means the Galaxy S4 Mini will slip easily into your pocket or handbag and sits nicely in the palm of your hand.
The Samsung GALAXY S 4 Mini comes with a powerful 1.7GHz Dual Core CPU and has a range of impressive features, as we’ve come to expect so just because the phone is small, it doesn’t mean it’s lacking in features or capability. This underlying architecture easily manages demanding mobile loads without stuttering, ensuring a smooth frame rate whether you are editing high-resolution photos, tracking live market analytics, or exploring the news during a morning commute. Everything remains responsive and snappy across the entire customized Android interface.
The device has an 8 mega pixel camera and comes with features such as ‘Best Photo’ which takes a burst of eight shots and lets you take your pick.
The Samsung GALAXY S 4 Mini also carries Samsung’s Group Play, allowing users to create their own surround sound system by playing the same music at the same time on up to five S4 Minis.

Availability and Network Status
- Status: Discontinued by Samsung and unsupported by security updates or modern apps.
- Network Compatibility: Australian telecommunication networks have shut down or are phasing out legacy 3G networks that this device relies on, rendering its cellular connectivity largely unusable locally.
- Collector/Secondhand Market: Occasionally found via online marketplaces like eBay Australia as a novelty or collector’s item rather than a functional daily phone.
- The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini requires a legacy Micro-USB charger (specifically a standard 5V wall adapter and a Micro-USB to USB-A cable) to power up. Modern USB-C cables used for newer smartphones will not fit this device.
