Chris Hemsworth’s has put his voice to work for a new app. Hemsworth has lent his voice to this app titles, The Big Tree. This app uses narratives and games to teach young children problem solving strategies as well as calming techniques.
In this app by The Australian Childhood Foundation there are four main characters, Chris voices Morten the Monster and Ollie the Monkey with the voices of Chris’ mother, Leonie Hemsworth portraying Ellen the Caterpillar, with the voice of Sleepy Susan the Cat by Nadine Garner.
Each characters helps its audience to consider the emotions and thoughts associated with challenges that come to be resolved through the support of friends.
This app, which was originally developed for children suffering from trauma. The Big Tree is appropriate for all children under eight years of age.
The central stories about trust, respect and love teach children that challenges can be overcome and that seeking out people who care about you when you are unhappy, stressed or confused can help you feel calmer.
Children will even learn from the app breathing relaxation techniques as well as playful activities that can be shared with parents or carers.
The Big Tree App can be downloaded from iTunes for $4.49 with all funds raised going to the Foundation in their work to support children affected by abuse and family violence.
