Setup of Yahoo Email On Your Nokia N9

How to configure a Yahoo email account on you Nokia N9.

1. Go to Accounts.
2. Tap on Add Account.
3. Select “Other Mail Account”.
4. Key in your credentials and tap Manual Setup.
5. Select Done.

 

Yahoo Mail setup

• Account Title: The name you wish to give your Yahoo account
• Name: Your name as you would like it to appear in the “From” section of your email
• User name: The first part of your yahoo email address (if your email address is joebloggs@yahoo.com, you enter joebloggs)
• Password: Enter your yahoo mail account password
• E-mail address: Your yahoo email address i.e. joebloggs@yahoo.com
• Incoming server (IMAP4): imap.n.mail.yahoo.com
• Secure authentication : Leave this unchecked
• Secure connection: None
• Port: 143
• Outgoing server (SMTP): smtp.mail.yahoo.com
• Secure authentication: Login
• User name: : The first part of your yahoo email address (if your email address is joebloggs@yahoo.com, you enter joebloggs)
• Password: Enter your yahoo mail account password
• Secure connection: SSL
• Port: 465
• Use connection-specific SMTP servers: leave this unchecked

The Nokia N9: A Discontinued Pioneer

Intel’s Withdrawal

Shortly after the N9’s launch, Intel (Nokia’s partner in developing MeeGo) abandoned the project, leaving the software completely orphaned.
