The Telstra Active Touch T28, made by ZTE,  is a touch Screen Android smart phone in stylish black. The Active Touch has been awarded Telstra’s blue tick for coverage meaning this mobile phone will provide great coverage and is recommended for rural and metropolitian use.

The Active Touch is an Android handset and also has Wi-Fi, FM Radio, Stereo Bluetooth, GPS and a 5 megapixel camera.

The Telstra Active Touch is one of the few smartphones that actually has a connection port for an external antenna meaning an antenna will directly plug into the handset.

What You Need to Know About Charging Your Telstra Active Touch

The Telstra Active Touch (also known as the ZTE T28) uses a standard micro-USB connection, so finding a charger is easier than you might think. It works with a typical 240V AC mains wall charger, a 12V car adapter, or any standard USB-A to micro-USB cable paired with a basic 5V USB wall block. You cannot use a USB-C charger

Original branded accessories are now hard to find in stores, but any compatible micro-USB charger will work perfectly.

Charger Options

• Wall Charger: A standard 240V AC mains adapter with a micro-USB tip. Look for one with a 100V–240V input range, these work fine with Australian wall outlets.
• Car Charger: A 12V DC vehicle accessory (cigarette lighter) plug with a micro-USB connector. Any standard car charger with a micro-USB cable will do.

Important Note: The Phone is No Longer on the Network

The Telstra Active Touch was released in 2012 and discontinued in the mid-2010s. Because it was a 3G-only “Next G” device, it became completely unusable for calls, texts, or data in Australia after Telstra’s official 3G network shutdown on October 28, 2024. This means while you can still charge the phone, it won’t connect to any mobile network.
